As a mother, there are some things I long for my children to know and enjoy as I do. One of those things is a love for books and reading and the idea that both knowledge and enjoyment can come from them. So, when I had the chance to receive a complimentary Bookroo box, I was so excited to try it out.

If you haven’t heard of Bookroo, let me explain how it works…

Bookroo is a monthly children’s book subscription service, whose books are thoroughly reviewed by a panel of 12 families and whose main goal is to include new and exciting books for you to not only grow your children’s book collections but their love of reading!

To get started with Bookroo, you can create an account here; all you need is an email address and a password. Then choose the type of book you would like to receive. Bookroo offers Board Books, which are geared toward kids 0-2 years old and Picture Books which are aimed at kids 2-6 years. If you have children in both age groups, Bookroo will alternate which box they send you each month so you can make sure all your kids are happy!

Next, you choose what membership plan you would like. They offer 1, 3, 6, and 12 month plans and you can cancel anytime. The 1 month plan starts at $17.99/month plus $5.00 shipping and the 12 month plan starts at $15.99/month plus the $5.00 shipping. Place your order and within in 6-9 business days, a delightful box shows up with your books inside. And let me just say how excited your kids will be when this cute package arrives for them to open!

I absolutely love the fact that each book comes individually wrapped in fun wrapping paper, making it an exciting event for your kids to look forward to each month. I mean, SO CUTE!

We received two picture books, both of which were new to us and made for great story time with the kids. Each book had fun pictures and offered a life lesson in the telling of each one. My three-year-old loved flipping from page to page pointing to things he recognized.

I absolutely love the idea of Bookroo and think it is a great way to get kids excited about reading. It would be a great gift idea for parents, grandparents, family or friends to give to the children in their lives. And if for some reason you receive a book you already have, just take a picture of you giving the book to someone else and Bookroo will give you $5.00 off your next subscription. How great is that?!

So,  here’s a little gift from me to you because I would love for you all to give Bookroo a try!
