“Arise, Shine; For your Light has come, and the glory of the Lord rises upon you.”-Isaiah 60:1
There are times in life where we set out with the express purpose of finding ourselves, trying to discover who we are and what our place is here in this big, beautiful world.
But do we ever really find ourselves?
Were we actually lost in the first place?
And does the feeling of being lost help us to be found?
Nobody likes the feeling of being lost, having that feeling of desperation and uncertainty settle into your stomach like a lead weight. It’s like walking through the woods in the dead of night, completely off track and no where to turn, the sounds around you bringing doubt and fear into your mind and nothing to light your way back home. You are scared, panicked, and you are crying out for someone, anyone to find you because you are…lost.
“I loved you at your darkest.”-Romans 5:8
We are all wanderers at some point in our lives, searching for worldly things to make us feel safe, loved and wholly fulfilled.
But there is one thing I know for sure…
Even if you are sitting pretty with the sun on your back and your head in the clouds, if you are not saved by the loving grace of Jesus the Messiah, then you are lost, drowning in darkness and there is only One who can save you.
God knew us from our mother’s womb. He knew our personality, strengths and weaknesses, our every accomplishment and our every sin. And He knew that there would come a time in our lives where we would be searching for answers, lost and broken, looking for a way out of the darkness.
His answer to our pleading cries and tears of desperation….
Jesus the Messiah, Savior of our Souls, the Light in the Darkness.
“For though I fall, I will rise again. Though I sit in darkness, the Lord will be my light.”-Micah 7:8
So, I say to you now, those that are lost and wandering, searching at every turn for something to fill the emptiness inside; Ask Jesus into your heart, let Him in and ask Him to cleanse you of your sins of the past so you can be made new again.
Let His light shine from you to be a beacon to other lost souls.
Oh, to be lost…and found.
“I am the Light of the World. Whoever follows me will never walk in darkness but will have the light of life.”-John 8:12
