Loudly Spoken Silence

“A fool vents all his feelings, but a wise man holds them back.”-Proverbs 29:11

In a world where social media and hype news run wild and any and everything is debated and opinionated(from politics and religion to who had what for lunch), I have learned something almost invaluable. It is not always necessary to be the loudest person (with the most opinions) for others to take notice. It’s okay to not be okay with a situation and still keep your opinions to yourself.

Now, there will be times in your life where your voice needs to be heard, where your thoughts and opinions become a stepping stone to what you stand for, what you believe in your heart as your own personal truths. And once those foundational beliefs are in your heart, stand strong in them. Walk them out in faith, but let your actions speak louder than your words. Live your life according to God’s truths and you will find a peace in that, that no matter what arises you know for yourself what is true and right and just.

And when there is a person or situation that compromises your truths, speak softly if need be and quietly and gracefully stand your ground. Softness and strength…The Lion and the Lamb…His Words, not man’s.

“Do not let any unwholesome talk come out of your mouths, but only what is helpful for building others up according to their needs, that it may benefit those who listen.”-Ephesians 4:29
