Quick Slow Learner

Quick, slow, slow…Quick, slow, slow. It seems like that is the phrase my mind seems to jump to these days (No, it’s not some crazy dance move!) 🙂 Lately, there have been some stinky attitudes floating around our house and its been a challenge to contend with. But we have been trying to see these challenges as opportunities to teach our children one valuable lesson, that I  myself still struggle with. We should do our best to be quick to hear, slow to speak, and slow to anger. Seeing our children in the midst of a meltdown, it is hard to stay firm but we do our best to teach them that not only their actions, but words as well, have consequences and how to effectively deal with those emotions that bubble up when we don’t get our way.  As I said, I too still struggle with this and more often than not I tend to get myself in such a pickle that only love and mercy can get me out! So, today’s lesson is this: God is gracious and merciful and shows us daily His wonderful love for us, even in our imperfections…quick to hear, slow to speak, and slow to anger-James 1:19

“He saved us, not because of righteous things we have done, but because of His mercy.”-Titus 3:5
