So, recently I was driving down the road, making my way to the grocery store on one of those rare occasions where I was all by myself. No husband, no kids, just me and my radio, tuned to my favorite contemporary christian station. Suddenly, Toby Mac’s “Feel It” comes on. The beat starts happening and I crank it up. Pretty soon I’m bebopping down the road-head swinging, one hand on the wheel and the other in the air..like I just don’t care. OOOah, OOOah! (Yeah, I know..two hands on the wheel. But I just couldn’t help myself.) I was singing, I was praising, I was raising the roof. Nothing holding me back but the seat belt. Looking back now, I probably looked like a crazy woman being attacked by bees, but it felt awesome to let go and not think about what I looked like–my car judges not! That, I believe, is how the Lord wants us to be. No matter where you are or what you are doing, always have a song of praise on your lips and in your heart. Whether you are in your car or in your kitchen making mac & cheese, it’s okay to sing and do ballerina twirls in your kitchen (at least that’s what I tell myself when my husband walks in and gives me a ‘yeah she’s gone crazy’ look)! Even if you think you look silly, sing, dance or shout joyfully to the Lord for He is good all the time!
“Shout joyfully to the Lord, all the earth…For the Lord is good; His lovingkindness is everlasting. And His faithfulness to all generations.”-Psalm 100:1, 5
